1. Is it worth to develop in this area?

2. What kind of apps should i develop: calculators, clinical history, records manager,

3.Should I develop for doctors or patients?

4. What is the top price I can put to an application in this area for a simple and a complex app?

It's a really awesome interview.I am also interested to jump in mobile apps developers.I think the best way to compete in market is just how much efficient you can provide to your consumers.It's very difficult for developers to cope up with all the marketing challenging with just their tech skills.I think every developer should have well understanding of business marketing strategies.

Doctors have been pretty aggressive adopters of smartphones and PDAs, so yes there is a market for medical software.  Users are also interested in software products like health trackers and fertility calculators.

There's a lot of competition, though.  This area was plowed very heavily by Palm developers five or more years ago, so you should check out what has been done in the past -- both to avoid competition and to get ideas from previous products.
