We're excited to announce DROID by Motorola, the world's first Android 2.0-powered smartphone developed in partnership with Google and Verizon Wireless.

Developers will be very excited about the following features of DROID by Motorola:

  • The first device in the world powered by Android 2.0 (eclair)
  • Powered by a Cortex A8 processor with dedicated hardware acceleration for a quick and fluid graphics experience. This is part of a new processor family that can actually deliver up to three times the performance of a typical ARM11-based processor. DROID runs at 550 mhz.
  • Capacitive touch on a 3.7” WVGA display
  • 5 megapixel autofocus camera with dual LED flash and image stabilization.

I need you to develop better programming for the Motorola Milestone for the purpose of putting in separate and different ringtones for different notifications. Specifically, I need to be able to have a separate and distinct ringtone for each of the following: email,  voice mail, and text messages. I was guided to a solution for entering separate ringtones in the Motorola forums, but the solution did not work. I was able to enter separate ringtones under the different areas, but ended up with the same ringtone in practice. It is possible that I did not do the process correctly, because the instructions were minimal.

Which brings me to a different topic. I find the manual for the Motorola Milestone is limited in its instructions. It has a great explanation of the symbols that show on the right side of the top of the home screen, but no explanation of the symbols that show up on the top left of the home screen.

Speaking of the Home Screen, I can find the option of adding icons to the home screen, but I cannot find the option, or any instructions for remove an icon that is no longer wanted on that screen. I don't want to remove the program applications, just to take the icon off the home screen.

Thank you for your time.

Does anyone have the wiring pin-out for the 3.5mm TRRS jack on this phone?
