On this week's podcast we have Rick Osterlo, VP of Product Development at Motorola and Christian Kurzke, Technology Evangelist at Motorola. We'll be talking to them all about the Motorola CLIQ with MOTOBLUR and how developers can build Android applications for it.  Join us for the live podcast on September 16th at 9am PDT / 12pm EST and ask your development questions by calling in at (347) 826-9350 (or via blogtalkradio's voip client), send @motodev a tweet, or join the G-SNAP chat

Do you have questions on the following:

  • What are the specs on the Motorola CLIQ?
  • Is the Motorola CLIQ a good gaming device?
  • What is MOTOBLUR?
  • Is there a SDK Add-on for the Motorola CLIQ?
  • Why was Android choosen for the Motorola CLIQ?

Those are just a few questions we'll cover but are looking for questions from you, the developer community. Comment on this blog or ask your questions during the live podcast. Thanks and look forward to helping you out.

Q: How much programmability will MOTOBLUR offer? Is there a specific framework to build widgets or is it the same as the standard Android. Are there any specific APIs? Will MOTOBLUR broadcast any intents (Ex: when a tweet is received)?

Q: Is it possible to write native apps in C++ for Motorola CLIQ? If so, are there any limitations?

Thanks!

Can you give more info re VDL and how the Live CLIQ hardware emulator works? Is it on all the time?

What is the average accuracy of the integrated GPS? I've heard on CNET that the Cliq can only

place the user within 800 meters of their actual location.

I understand that there is a subscription navigation service which provides turn by turn directions.

Is it possible to NOT subscribe, but still determine my location on Google maps?
