You are nothing to Motorola, Sportster.  I'm waiting for March 19th and  holding out hope that Google will cause a shift in Motorola's mentality. After that, I will purchase my products from my South Korean brothers and sisters for the foreseeable future.

Re: Welcome to the Bootloader discussion board

Just a reminder folks that while Motorola is permitting a very broad discussion here, they do require that you stay on the topic of bootloaders, and that you do so in a courteous and respectful manner.

Agreed. I've seen some rude things to the staff here, be respectful fellows.

Re: Welcome to the Bootloader discussion board

I must  say that I do think that we are justified in being angry; after all after nine pages of comments we are yet to here any answers.

Waht is the point in this board?

Re: Welcome to the Bootloader discussion board

The board is for discussion of the bootloader and its status.

Unfortunately, as a moderator, I have no access to the type of information and answers that are being requested. My sole responsibility is the operation of the forum itself.

Re: Welcome to the Bootloader discussion board

Thanks Motorola for locking the bootloader. It has made my phone a lot easier to use and at least I know I will never be able to brick it or wreck it completely by doing something I was not meant to.

See I am a noob but I like fiddeling with technology. I was going to buy a Samsung but after I read horrible stories about how some users bricked them I did some research and settled for a Moto with locked BL. I since can do whatever I want with my phone.

Seriously though why did you open such a thread to say later than there is no info or status about the bootloader? Are you trying to annoy us more than what we are already?

Re: Welcome to the Bootloader discussion board

i read a lot of post bout bootloader unlocking and i think motorola should unlock it beacuse

1. you promised you will .. and even you understand that is not how u do buisness by breaking promises

2. there are plenty of developers who need unlocked bootloaders for their apps and it would be pretty useful for user and for motorola as well .. as the number of apps for defy would increase and so would the demand for the product ..

i really dont see any point in not unlocking the device

3. for the person posted above me .. if u are a noob it is highly unlikey u would even know or commit a mistake of bricking ur device. most of the people who knows how to also understands the risk involved

MOTOROLA the thing is you made a promise and if u are not doing it i guess u would lose more than 10% of ur buisness just by this act and i persnoally suggest 4 people to buy defy in last 1 year .. but if i or any of ur users are not satisfied by ur services.. i guess ur reputation in the market would go down .. so my request please unlock the bootloader for my defy

What bugs me in this forum topic is "why" did you create it?

An Admin of the forum creates a forum topic which everyone knows is extremely sensitive for the customers (especially for devs in motodev), advise that this is about the status of the BL and then a few pages later come back to say that you are not in position to give any info since you don't have access to this type of information.

So which status are we talking about and who is supposed to provide it? Your colleagues on FB are doing a great job ignoring questions and deleting posts so you should do the same and start with this one.

What you can do to really help in the time being "before Google officially takes over" is to release how to sign the files for the locked BL to accept them. Otherwise I hope Google does not deceive us and open source the whole lot.

Re: Welcome to the Bootloader discussion board

This thread might as well be locked or deleted as it serves no point.

We are getting nothing back from our questions.

This is just a tick box excercise from Motorola.
